I am having a problem with wasps eating my teak patio furniture. Is there anything out there that would keep them off the teak and not be objectionable to to be around? My wife is allergic to bee and wasp sting so I need to do something. I would rather not use insecticide. Thanks for your help.

A quick google found this home brew that does not sound too toxic:

Assuming your patio furniture is un-finished? In my experience, paper wasps and carpenter bees stay off of exterior woodwork that has been treated, painted or otherwise finished as they tend to get confused by the smell of it and move onto something else. I'd recommend Penofin or Epiphanes if you prefer varnish.

Are they really eating Teak? I thought no insect would touch that stuff.

To discourage the paper wasp, hang a decoy that looks like a Wasp nest.

They're territorial predators, so if you have them you they're feeding on
mosquitos, larva of other (more destructive) insects, etc.
