Last Christmas my daughter got me a set of 3 books from Lee Valley. They are a compilation of The bull of the woods (http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=2&p=46711&cat=1,46096,46100) cartoons.
The setting for all the cartoons is a machine shop in the late 1920s and the 1930s. The bull of the woods is the shop foreman. The cartoons are all single panel situations about the goings on in a machine shop of that era. They are hilarious :D :D At times I had stop and wipe my eyes, I was laughing so hard.
I highly recommend one or more of the three volumes for some non-think relaxed reading.
I have been meaning to post this for some time; but I stopped to think and forgot to start again. ;)
