This shallow bowl had a hole through the rim and out the bottom. I have been using pieces of bark and chips to fill holes caused by rot or bugs. I tap the small chunks of bark into the hole using a tack hammer. When secure, I fill the remaining gaps with small chips and sanding dust and thin super glue. The surface is then recut and sanded smooth. The finished patch looks much more natural. Different bark yields different color and texture. Bowl is about 7" across.

Well done! I have super glued fragile and unstable knots as well for fear they might fly out when turning, and filled minor holes and this works great. Great looking bowl with a nice finish Bob!
