311257I made a few fire engines, the wheels were bought but heavily modified in the center area to duplicate the look of the real trucks wheels. The rest of the trucks are poplar, used diluted red paint for the stain and finished with shellac.

Amazing detail Dave. Are they for display? They look too fragile to be toys.

They are not toys but for display.

I like them are they all clones, or slightly differant.Some of those parts must have been challenging to make.
One last question are they Maquettes ? Thanks for sharing Aj

The trucks are the same, they are replicas of KME trucks made by Kovatch Mechanical Equipment in Nesquehoning, Pa.

These are awesome! Excellent job. I love the detail you put into these. My one question is why no pump panels?

The Wilburt light tower in the hose bed as well as the rocker lugs on the hard auctions are a nice touch (among all the other great details).
