The latest in my series with Celtic Knotwork. Outer rim design is based on the patern found on plate 29 of the Lindisfarne Bible, one of the Celtic treasures.

cherry, 8 1/2" diameter currently finished with one coat of Walnut oil. I tried to get a picture of the back when my camera battery died, so I will upload it later.

C&C welcome of course.

Thom, as always, a big thumbs up.
How long did it take ya to complete that job?

I've got about 12 hrs in this one. Much of that was in doing the layout with pencil and correcting it to get the line width. Burning the background is also time consuming and requires attention to try to keep it balanced.

Looks like a family keeper to me. As that cherry ages it will just get better and better. Great job Thom!

Thanks for the nice compliments. My D-I-L shared the picture on her facebook page and was offered $400 if it was for sale...

If I wasn't wanting that OneWay 1224 I would not even consider that. Still don't think I'll bite though.

Very nice platter Thom. I wish I had a tenth of the patience to do something like that. I salute your determination.

Thom, I haven't been browsing for a while I almost missed your piece, absolutely beautiful and exquisitely done. What an eye catcher, this is a piece that only a few people who do woodturning could do so well. Even if I had your patience I doubt I could duplicate this wonderful piece.

Thom, that is the best woodturning I've seen in recent times. You've set a new bar for excellence with this one. It is beautiful and one you can be proud of forever.
