Out of interest, what are they made from?

I'm giving a few sets to some local record stores. I'll let you know what they say. ;)

I've been chuckling all morning over that. :)

Add some anti static and noise reducing claims, quadruple your price, and you have a real hit. I love it.
Looking for investers, I'm in

What's a "record player"? ;)

What's a "record player"? ;)

Just a little background. I've always been into music and in the last year started goofing around with restoring vintage (40+ YO) turntables. They're pretty clever in both that they are deceivingly simple and yet pretty complex. My experience is only with the German ones I'm collecting. Some parts are hard to come by, so I'm messing around with fabricating replacement pieces that are 3D printed. I like the nostalgia and it is fun to buy old records for a dollar with music that is not available on any other format.

I have an old Dual very similar to that one. Must be buried somewhere. Also have a ADC that had the spindle that came up to meet the record go it didn't fall to the platter. Always worked but got it out awhile back and now it's dead. Won't power up at all. Was a neat machine. Even had a remote control, ahead of its time.

Very cool Jeff. The turntable pictured is the Dual 1229 that's in my shop.

I too have a dual, forget the model tho-- The stereo equipment that played the records, a 1981 Carver C2000 Sonic Holography Autocorrelator Preamplifier (the owners manual was typewritten with hand drawings by Bob Carver) and 2 500w Carver "Cube" magnetic field power amps. To this day it's better than most available sound equipment. Alas, a wife with chronic migraines put the kybosh on playing loud music, so it's all in storage. :(

Like the platter toppers! :)

Kev: I appreciate you sharing that - good stuff.

Hope you get an opportunity to enjoy it again.

...Thank you

Did you have any way to eliminate the burned cork smell?
Very cool idea - I hope you sell a couple of milk crates full of them!
(That's how most people I know stored their albums - "borrowed" milk crates)

Awesome! I love the 45 adaptor! So few kids will know what is let alone ever see one. Great idea, and I hope you make a good profit on the idea.

Suggest you look into custom ones for DJs and clubs. Might be a profit opportunity.

I don't notice much of a burnt smell.

The milk crate is a great idea. I'm shipping these in a record sleeve packed in a media mailer for vinyl.

They might have been mine. It's all original artwork.
