View Full Version : 3/8" table pins?

I've scoured the web and can't find anyone who offers a metal table leaf alignment pin that has a 3/8" o.d. I see wooden 3/8" ones everywhere but only see 5/16" or metric metal ones.

Reason for wanting this is so that I can use my dowelmax for the drilling/alignment of the pins, which would simplify things.

Alternatively, if someone knows of a 1/4" o.d. metal alignment pin I could use that with the 1/4" dowelmax adapter, although that is less than ideal since I don't have it in that configuration often.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

I suppose another option is to buy the 8mm inserts for the dowelmax (within 3 thousandths of 5/16") and just stick with the readily available 5/16" table pins. Then I also have the option to use 5/16" dia. dowels if the need ever arises for that.

Google "3/8 metal pin". I found 3/8 round rod.

Thanks matt, but I'm looking for manufactured table pins like you see here: http://www.leevalley.com/us/Hardware/page.aspx?p=40145&cat=3,43715,43726&ap=1 Metal rod would require a lot of work to make presentable, and would still leave me lacking a metal receptacle on the other board.

Was about to buy the 8mm dowelmax guides but the $16 shipping on something that would almost fit in an envelope got me reconsidering.
