What is your opinion on the Delta 36-5100, shown in the link below.

I'm thinking about purchasing this table saw, but it has been a while since I've had to look at saws. I know the fence is well rated, but what about the rest of the saw. Appreciate any opinions you might have.

I have no idea about saw, but it might be helpful to include your intended purpose? do you need mobility etc.

That's a steep price tag for a saw that adds a single piece fence rail, a slightly stronger motor, and cast wings to what is basically the $550 Delta 36-725. Lots of competition opens up in that price range, and it also puts you uncomfortably close to some of the 3hp cabinet saws (if you have 220v).

If you're restricted to 120v, I'd look to a Grizzly hybrid, Steel City, Craftsman 22116, or maybe even a sale price of a Jet Proshop first.

No way would I recommend that saw at that price to a friend. Too many issues with Delta currently and at that price you can get a very nice used cabinet saw.

There are better choices. You should be able to find a used cabinet saw in that price range. There's a very nice Delta 36-953 left tilt Unisaw with 50" Biesemeyer fence on my local Craigslist for $1250.

Is there a different tablesaw available at Lowes that you would recommend instead? I'm less concerned about price and more concerned about performance.

I generally do small projects but do projects very precisely - I think being off by 1/32 of an inch on a cut is too much and strive to make cuts accurately to 1/64th of an inch. I would like something with a nice fence that will help make more accurate cuts.
