I am making many 28", three dimension, wall hung stars so I made two jigs of MDF to cut them. One is a taper jig for making the five points and the other is a miter jig for cutting the interior miters where the five points meet. Star is made of 1/2" oak and walnut.

Very nice work. Just out of curiosity, how are the mitered sections joined together?

This is an end grain glue joint so it is very weak. I grind a slight taper in the back side of each miter cut so when assembled there is a groove right at the joint which I fill with epoxy.

Nice looking star. You certainly made one precision jig.
