I just bought a Byrd head for my DJ-20 jointer. After I got the head installed I had leveled the top of the insert to the outfeed table within 0.001". When I did that I startted getting snipe on the front & rear over every board that I cut. I ended up having lower my table about 0.015" to get the snipe to go away. When I measure the boards with a straight edge they are flat, but it does not make any since why the inserts should be 0.015" higher than my outfeed table. Has anyone that installed a byrd cutter had a similar experience? BTW I check the hight with a straight edge & a dial indicator to verify they are higher than the outfeed table.
