I'm going to be in Key West next week and wondered if there is any place to pick up a few pieces of wood for turning?

Thanks,
Greg

The Keys produce Mahogany and Native Rosewood along with a host of other 'exotic' woods, you might find Jamaican Dogwood, Acacia, Avacado, Citrus (needs to be cut and sealed or turns brown instead of the lovely yellow), swamp maple, various oaks and yes, many species of palm. Unfortunately I do not know of a supplier down there. The nearest AAW chapter is apparently in Miami, you might contact them, David Piper is the President: www.sfwtg.com

Try St Petersburg and some of the big cities on the west coast. They have boo-coo native grown tropical trees.
