I just about have a walnut vanity built and need to start the finishing.

I've sanded to 220. Now I need to do the glue ups.

First question, how do I best get rid of squeeze out? Does anyone have a preference for this? I've heard to let it "kind of" dry and then peel it off. Anyone have a better time frame for this?

Second. I like using oils. That's all I have experence with. Watco Danish, BLO, etc. I usually put a couple of coats on then shellac, then wax. On this I was thinking of just Danish (2 coats) and then using a poly from a rattle can. I don't have a dust free environment really. Any suggestions?

On walnut I like Waterlox. Using it as a wipe on lets it dry quickly so there is less tendency to gather dust.

You have to just watch carefully to figure out the best time for the glue removal since it depends on so many factors, temperature, humidity, moisture content of the glue, what kind of glue, and how much glue was squeezed out. Don't forget after you have removed the glue and let it fully dry to wipe with mineral spirits to see if you have missed any.
