Hi all,

So while I'm learning to use handplanes a little more and liking it, I still have a need obviously for a jointer and planer.

I have an 8" jointer and 15" planer and would like to get a jig for blade changes. The planer needs to be sharpened and or new blades which I can do either.

I figured while in the planer I would sharpen the jointer as well.

What is a good set up for both. Looking for good user, not partial to brand beciase I have never had one.

Thanks

Brian

Any suggestions?

Are the planer and jointer pals from tickler and all the other companies any good?

I bought a one away multi gauge and it is awesome to setup everything. Used it to set my jointer knives. I made my own block of wood that sits on the he cutter head of the planer and used the dial indicator from the gauge so I could set the planer knives. Then put it back in the one way gauge to setup the rollers, chip breaker, etc. it's expensive and I went back and forth on whether to buy it but I'm glad I did. I a one of those tools you won't use often but when you do it's worth it.
