liquid gel foam seat cushion LEAKING!!!

Got one of those liquid gel foam seat cushion pad things to put on an old Oak rocking chair and ONE DAY after putting that thing on the chair, I hear this squishing sound. I stand up and look at the seat and the seat cushion is leaking some sort of gooey gel.


Has this ever happened to anyone ?? The seat cushion cracked open on the inside.

I bought a pair of gel inserts for my shoes many years ago. They were great for about 2 weeks, then alas my shoes did bleed.
I guess they still haven't come up with a way to keep this stuff leak proof.

Was this rocker by any chance exposed to the cold and did someone sit in it while it was really cold? Plastics don't like flexing when they are cold.

Years ago I rebuilt a light weight wheelchair for a friend of mine. She had used a gel-filled cushion and it leaked at some point. The gel on the seat sling of the chair was like ear wax. I wound up throwing the sling away and buying a new one for her.
