I have a 60 mm f/2.8 macro lens that needs repaired. I keep getting the error 01 and auto focus quit working.

Can anyone recommend a good repair facility? I read a few disturbing reviews of one repair facility and want to make sure I get a good one.

Thanks

... Can anyone recommend a good repair facility? ...

I would look up the current Canon USA repair sites. (There used to be one in Irvine, CA.) I didn't use it for a repair for a ("low-miles" L) lens and regret it. I used an authorized repair depot that was local. My repair was fine, but it certainly wasn't quicker (as I assumed), because they had to order parts from Irvine, and it turned out more money than the depot would have charged. (I assumed, incorrectly, and only checked later.) I also lost out on the possibility of having the warranty honored, even though it had officially expired. (I was a few months out of warranty, but "low-miles". The lens shouldn't have broken at that point, but Canon said they could only comp me if they had examined it at the depot.)

(Edit in fixes. I can't type &/+ spell, sorry.)

I have used Southern Photo Technical Service in the past. I have not had any digital repairs done. They have been in Jacksonville, FL since 1963. 904-398-7577.
