The long promised review on the LV Scrub Plane has finally landed - it took a bit more planning and construction than I anticipated.

I have included below a link to my "website". Please note that there are two broken picture links there, fortunately very insignificant and, hopefully, soon to be repaired.

It is a little bit more than just a review, and I hope that you bear with this.

Enjoy and all feedback and criticism is welcome as usual.

Derek,
Thanks for the writeup!

I have a Stanley #40, but have often wondered if a slighlty larger, beefier plane would work well too. It seems that LV has, yet again, done a nice job with a new product.

Side note question though - is that a 6x48 neander-buddy you used for sharpening? Where'd ya get the higher grit belts?

Thanks again for the review.
Cheers,
-Mike

Hi Mike

Yes, 6x48. Belts are available to 2000 grit. However I only go up to 1300, followed by Veritas green rouge (.5 microns) for my chisels. For plane blades (with the exception of the scrub blades here) I prefer to move onto waterstones (up to 8000).
