Title says it all.

I know PM has an 18" extension kit that comes with a post extension but if I just want to mount the extension at the upper position (in line with the lathe ways) the Jet is $200 verses $350/PM.

i cannot find the spec for the distance between the ways, but I believe they are different for the 1642 evs and the Powermatic......they would not align and your tailstock could not be used

The distance between the ways on the PM is wider than the Jet.
