I like my grinder except for the way it slings water and makes such a mess. I have been putting off sharpening for this reason but yesterday was the day.

When getting ready I was looking for a solution when I spied a galvanized wash tub. I set a patio stone in the bottom and dropped in the grinder. It worked well, caught all the spin off and as I do not use the rest it gave me a place to rest my forearms so I was a bit steadier. Worked very well.

Larry, are you referring to the 9820?
If so, I've had one for a few years and have used it pretty frequently especially lately. Mine does have some minor overspray (?), but it seems to be only at the back of he machine, it does not spray on me.
About how many drips of water per second do you use?
Could you post a picture of your setup?
Thanks

You guys do know that the vertical black plastic outer "skirt is adjustable for height, correct? I always had issue with inconsistent water feed, until I mounted an auxiliary drip bottle above the built in water tray. This provides consistent drip feed much better, with an overflow tank and tube on the drain side, below the bench.
