I am trying to weld some text together so I can cut it out in MDF.

The text I want is 'workshops' but when I try to weld the letters together it doesnt seem to want to include the inner part of the letter '0' or 'p'.

I am obviously doing something wrong but for the life of me cant figure out why and I am getting a tad annoyed now

Any help would be very gratefully received

I don't have x7 but i tried it in x5 and when I welded it the letter "p" the inner part seems to be lost, but look at in the wireframe mode and it's ok!

I don't have X7 but I doubt your problem is unique to X7.

I assume you converted to curves, break apart, outline only, no fill, then moved the letters so they touch. Correct?

At this point the centers of the characters will be detached from the outside. I think you could select both the center and outside of the "O" and COMBINE. Repeat with other characters (P) as needed. Then weld.

OR: weld all outlines, then select the whole graphic, then COMBINE.

Try one of these.

If I understand correctly, just use the Combine function, as Richard R mentions. Weld frequently “looses” centres of drawings.
