I just scored one off Craigslist that didn't come with a stand or motor.

1. Is 1.5 HP enough or should I go with a 2 or 3hp unit?

2. Can someone take and post pictures of the stand it sits on? Main interest is how the belt runs to the cutting head. Also the dimensions I would need to build the cabinet to would be appreciated!

Lastly- anything I should know about this unit? Other than the fact I shouldn't rely on delta for parts?

Thanks folks!

Just Google Delta DJ-20. You should get plenty of hits, that is a popular joiner.

Dj 20 is a jointer. Might help your searches.

Dj30 has a 3 hp motor but not the info you wanted.

Here is a picture of mine, I am not home this month so I cannot give you any additional pics or dimensions.

I find that the 3450/1.5 HP motor is plenty of power, and I have not felt the need to upgrade it.

Thanks folks!
Sorry. My brain isnt firing properly.
I really appreciate everyone saying 1.5hp is enough! That saves a good bit of money on magnetic switches and 220v.

Does anyone have a dimensions of the stand? I was going to try order the metal this week and weld up a stand. Doesnt have to be exact.

Many 8" jointers have a 2hp motor, but 1.5hp-true is ok.
