PayPal and Subscriptions (Donations)

Is Paypal the only way to pay for a SMC subscription, aka donation? Why am I not seeing a credit card option to pay for a subscription?

Going through the paypal "add money" seems like they are asking for every piece of info that would allow my bank account to be hacked.

You can use your credit card through PayPal too. You don't need to sign up either.

And if you scroll to the bottom of the donate page you will see this info:

PayPal will accept both checks and credit cards, and while we do prefer that you make use of our automated system for subscriptions, the slower alternative is always available. Please list your username in the Memo field of your check:
