I am looking for thread chasers.I would like to have some by Ray Iles but have been unsuccessful in finding any for sale. May have to settle for the Sorby or Crown ones.Anyone have Has anyone used and liked these??? Or know of another brand?

TWW shows them to be out of stock. I have a couple sets of Sorby and like them. They are HSS. The Ray Iles are carbon steel, if that makes a difference to you.

This may interest you since you're looking at threading. Different threading process is used.

What thread pitch do you guys like?

I know it depends on what wood you are threading, and there are a few to choose from. 16 to 20 TPI. I have a 20, and I think it's too fine...... Just my $0.02.

Unless one does a lot of chasing, getting a nice fitting set of threads is tricky. I think 10tpi is much more forgiving and less likely to cross thread in use.
