I need part number 1313104. It's a key for a 1/2" chuck on a Delta 14" drill press 14-040. It's no longer available from DELTA, ereplacements, Mike's or toolpartsdirect. DeWalt even lists it as not available.

The marking on the chuck is RJ33 13L. I've looked for a cross reference, but to no available.

Anyone know of a suitable replacement?

Thanks.

You're just going to have to go generic. From what I've heard, this fits fine (http://www.travers.com/chuck-keys?Category=UserSearch=JACOBS%20CHUCK%20KEYS||Us erSearch=block%20id%2051891%20and%20class%20level3 %20id%20298560) but don't quote me, but I'm sure a lot of generics do as well. If nothing else, take the chuck out of your drill press, take it to the store and find one that works.

Todd,
Try Circle Saw Builder Supply here in Houston. If they have they it, probably could ship to you. Circle Saw-1-866-439-8054.

A few years ago I lost one to a drill press I was using then. I was able to find one at a local Ace hardware store.

Worst case, replace the chuck itself with one you can find a matching key for.

Great opportunity to go with a keyless chuck.

+1 with Mr Blue. Once you go keyless you never go back...just kidding!

Try RENOVO PARTS.com for Delta parts. You may need to call them but they carry a large number of Delta Parts.

I got his contact from Delta recently.

I've never not found one I needed in Ace Hardware.

I went by Ace yesterday and picked up a 1/2" chuck key with a 1/4" pilot. It works, but it's sloppy. I'll go back and get the 9/32" pilot and try it.

I just found a Milwaukee that works on my cushman jt33 13L japan chuck which came on my Rockwell 15-069 dp.

And just for completeness on my previous attempt at Ace, a 9/32" pilot would not fit the hole in the chuck. The first Jacobs part #30251 I got from Ace had a 1/4" pilot, but the pilot was too long. Without grinding the pilot off, I could not tell how well the gears would mesh. But, for a slop fit, it did work.

Yes Todd I edited my original post with it right after I replied but it didn't go through apparently. Like you I went nuts trying to find a key. I also called cushman and let them know.

What is below is from another post I made here about a month ago.

"I found a key. It is a milwaukee 48-66-3280 (tel:48-66-3280). Chuck key for 3/8 and 1/2inch chucks with 1/4 inch pilot. I did it by taking the entire head to a tool supply store. The clerk knew exactly what I needed, took about 30 seconds. Sometimes its best to forget the net and go old school. "
