Just curious if anyone caught the new series on FX last night. Very intense...thats for sure. I will be watching weekly.... thats for sure. The producers stated that they were making this series a 'reality' of what was going on in Iraq.

I watched and enjoyed it! Just wonder when the current politics will enter in?

I got interrupted a couple of times so I didn't see the whole show, but what I did see looked worth watching again.

Just wonder when the current politics will enter in?

Like, "Why are we there in the first place", thus creating fodder for an over-the-top show about the realities of war.

Been, there done that in a different time - don't need to be reminded of the viciousness and waste of a war that should not have been started.

Of course you are directing that comment to BOTH Bruce and myself - right?

My wife and I cought the last few minites of the new series. I told my wife image right out of High School and Basic Training and shipped over there. Before I logged on I read Yahoo.com news on the war, like I usually do to catch up on the latest. I always hope for good news and progress on the war for our troops.I seen a window caption on the fatalities rating and clicked on. Troops loss are 1770, I clicked on to many of the faces and read the info provide. So many young faces as well as solders my age. I kept reading picture after picture until my heart felt heavy, My heart and prayers go out to their Families, yes war is war. And war only means Death and Destruction. Thanks to all our troops, from my whole family over here. Aloha Jim.......

Yep, I caught it. It's definitely not for the faint of heart. I did see an interview with the executive producer, Stephen Bochco, on The O'Reilly Factor, which clued me in to the existence of the show. In the interview, it was clear that Bochco (who also was involved in Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, and NYPD Blue) intended to be in-your-face with the show, but not to approach it from a political sense. Rather, the approach was to be, "here's a fictional story based on what's really going on "over there", but you need to form your own political opinions (which should not be repeated here on SMC). After seeing the first installment, I intend to watch the next, that's for sure. Just in case you don't know, there is some language and some gore so far, and it airs on FX Wednesdays at 10pm (ET, not sure if that's going to be EST or EDT, since it ran twice in a row here, 9 and 10pm EST).

Pray for our troops.

As Tom stated earlier.....it was stated to all members of SMC. No politics.

Thanks for keeping it clean guys. I am looking forward to the next episode. It is rather bold in terms of langauge and imagery...not to be viewed by young kids.
