I'm working on building a number of tack boxes(trunks to put a saddle and horse related items in) and one of the requirements is a rack to hang bridles on to clean. Think of a single pole coat rack with one hook. The pole has to be approx 5-6 feet high and has to come apart so it can go in the trunk which is 30" long. I initially though of using telescoping metal tubing(sq. or round) so the pole could just "collapse" for storage. However the cost of this tubing left me breathless. It wouldn't be too bad if it were a one off but I have to make 37 so the cost adds up fast.Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Fred

I would integrate the post into the trunk so the trunk is the bottom half of the post. I can think of several ways to do this but as usual most posters leave out critical details that could lead to alternate solutions.
