$595! Really?!? I mean it seams nice and all but 6 bills for an electric hand tool?

Ooh it's finally made it to the U.S. I have the Ceros and its my favorite sander and that includes the Festool sanders. Whether it's worth it is up to the user. For me sanding takes up a lot of the project time, so I thought it was worth the cost. I'm really eager to try out the deros. Hopefully one of my local stores will have a display

$595 and I believe that's without a vacuum hose.

I recently tried the Deros and Ceros side by side. Preferred the slightly smaller profile of the Ceros and bought it. The major difference between the 2 is that the Ceros is a DC powered unit and comes with a separate converter. The Deros is an AC powered unit but is a bit larger in profile to accommodate the larger AC motor. Performance wise I could not tell any difference. The Mirka sales rep seemed to indicate that the Deros is the go-forward model but that the Ceros would still be around "for a while". The Deros also has a few features that probably fit better in the pro shop, such as a quick connect hose, and a hose option with the hose and power integrated.

The deros also has interchangeable pads. So it can use both 5" and 6" pads

Don't count on that. There's word that the US version doesn't allow interchanging of pads. I'm curious about this, but not curious enough to waste time calling the US Mirka reps to figure out if it's really true, and if so, why.
