I posted a picture of this piece fresh off the lathe a couple of weeks ago with some doubt that it would survive drying. It did survive! Only a couple of checks that closed back up, it did warp quite a bit as expected. I have had poor results with post oak in the past but tried anyway since the wood was interesting. This is the natural color (only pure tung oil was applied as a finish), darker than any post oak I had seen before.
Comments and critiques welcome.

interesting....do not see much of that.......it is dark isn't it

Definitely makes for an interesting piece. Very nice.

very nice..I get the feeling it that it might be old iron that has rusted..and just dug up.
