epilog helix y axis rough not smooth when moved by hand?should i clean them somehow?

Hello sawmill creek,
When i move the y axis up or down by hand its quite rough,i'm pretty sure the previous owner cut something a little corrosive in it but its not bad by any means they is very slight surface rust here and there but do you think they are corroded or just full of rubbish(the bearings)?are they a sealed bearing?Are there any other reasons it would be rough?Are they replaceable?
