Made the base from extra wood I had around. I laser cut the acrylic, then rounded the corners, and then flame polished the edges.

Nice! What type of light did you use in the base?

Other than the typo, it looks great!

OOPs on the typo :). The base is made from leds and I wired it to an ac adapter. I'll what I can do about the images.

Lol your image is 74k, that's tiny for a photo. Don't worry about it's size. Bert must still be on dial-up :p

The part I do not understand in this post is: “with my extra time”. I have no idea what that is, can you make it on a laser? :)

Trophy is a great idea for a shop window, sure to catch attention, the ball esp looks good.

Kind Regards, John

Yea I don't know what happened when I went to open the pic's it took like 2 min's for them to open, I just opened again today and they popped right up. Must have had internet problems the other day.;)

Sometimes I see threads like this and wonder if it wouldn't make sense to mention a price you'd charge for something like that. Maybe you'd find members of SMC that like the product and have a need for similar work, but don't want to bother taking the time to PM and ask for pricing.

I think if a price was mentioned the Mods would move it to classified ad's

That was in regards to. I was laid off of my full time job, so I've had extra time to do a few extra things whilst I search for a new job.

How did you make theese wood base? With an cnc drilling ?

That's a very nice example for your window, but really, you should re-do it with correct spelling - your future customers will think better of you for it.

Clark this looks great. I for one, would love to see how you designed the golf ball. I love how 3D it looks. I haven't been so lucky with these type of designs. We do quite a few LED lights and I just love how they turn out!

Nope. Good old fashioned table saw, router and wood glue.

I would be interested in seeing how the LED lights are fit into the base.
Curious why you had to flame polish the edge - did you not cut the shape of the acrylic on the laser?

Clark Pace

I did the raw shape on the laser, but I wanted the edges to have a bevel(round over). It's hard to see in the picture, but the edges are not 90 degrees. So after rounding the edge I went back and flame polished the round over.

Clark, I am sorry: I missed that bit about your being laid off your job :( I had meant my comment about “spare time" as a joke generally, not realising your specific situation, I do apologise if I offended you. I hope you find something soon and that your skills on the laser will start paying you handsomely.
Kind Regards, John

Ebay for the leds and AC adapters. Then a little snip, and soldering.
