Does anyone know where I can buy used or new parts for an ECE primus jack plane?
I dropped mine and the regulator (depth adjustment rod) bent and is not usable.

Man, if I had a nickel for each time I dropped a plane, I'd be able to buy a new plane.

I would check with the US importers for ECE, otherwise you might be able to get it here http://www.fine-tools.com/hobele.htm or contact them directly.

Now might be a good time to start adjusting with a hammer (-:

I think one can google ECE and they have parts available. Someone on another forum needed parts for a badly damaged ECE plane and they wee able to repair the plane for under $50 from what I remember. you also might try highland hardware or some other vendor that sells ECE for information.

Glad to see someone else is using this plane. It actually is my favorite plane, perhaps even my favorite tool.

The Best things sells the line.
Perhaps they can help?

It seems to me that this is just the sort of thing a
local machine shop should be able to manage.

It's just a piece of bent rod, with a cross pin at one end
and threading at the other...

I have an ECE smoother with a Hock Blade. I don't use it. If you want it PC me. I think I can still find it. Maybe the parts will fit.

Too bad he does not live closer, I have a machine shop near me that is very reasonable and does excellent work. They will do small projects like this also.

There was just a post on LJ's were one of the guys found one that needed parts. He ordered them straight from the importer. I can't find the thread right now, but I think it was in Chicago.
