Dewalt DW708 sliding miter saw

My 708 has developed some sideways play in the front end when you move the handle, motor etc. back and forth. There is no sideways play in the sliders. Can this be tightened up to get rid of the side play? If so, where should I look to tighten it up?

I have the owners manual as far as parts go, but can someone help me with a hands on starting point on this?
