In have an old rockwell drill press that i need a key for. It has a Cushman chuck C13L 33JT Japan on it. The machine is a rockwell 15-069. This chuck came on the machine when new. I called Cushman but they could not help. Does anyone know what chuck key will work on this machine? It is a 1/4 inch pilot hole.

I can't help with the key, but if you end up replacing the chuck, the 33JT in the model number means that the spindle has a #33 Jacobs Taper, similar to a Morse Taper. A pair of chuck removal wedges is what is used to remove the chuck from the spindle.

Any idea how I can determine What wedges would I need to remove this chuck?

I think it takes a pair of #1 wedges. I will check this evening.

I found a key. It is a milwaukee 48-66-3280. Chuck key for 3/8 and 1/2inch chucks with 1/4 inch pilot. I did it by taking the entire head to a tool supply store. The clerk knew exactly what I needed, took about 30 seconds. Sometimes its best to forget the net and go old school.

Thanks for your help John.
