Looking to get a drum sander to sand down some 3mm birch plywood that is about .010 too thick, there is enough veneer I am looking at the 18-38 Drum sander from Super Max Tools they claim it will sand wood that is 1/32" thick. Pro's Con's other suggestions?

Thanks

Well, depends on the Ply. Even if it's not thick, how about taking it off the back side, will that be visible?

I have the SuperMax 25/50 and am very happy with it but have never tried to sand material that thin. 3/16" veneer is as thin as I have done. I did a fair amount of research before buying the SuperMax and really felt it was the best of the field/price range.

Bill I will not be going that thin I need to only take about .010 off a 3 mm ply. What I have found is most machines min thickness is 1/8" so I was checking is anyone had one and how they liked it Thank you
