...on this piece of teak I've had for around 15 years. It's a little over 13' long, 9.5" wide, and about 1.25" thick. I actually have 2 of them.

But I've arrived at the point of our bathroom remodel where everything else is done and now it's my turn to do all the the remaining woodwork . Window shutters, bench, various trim, shower ledge, shelves...

Well, at least I can comfort myself that it's going to a good home (mine!).

I have had a 2" thick Zebrawood plank for 20 years that I have not found the perfect use for. Also a 42" wide Jatoba 6/4 that I have been saving for my own desk. Still no desk......

I feel you. I have a few 12'+ boards of Honduras mahogany, 2.25" thick and 14"-18" wide that I have saved for a dining room table or something that can appreciate the size of the board.
Have a tough time cutting it...

I think james Krenov said it best ..." If you have a 12 foot plank, you are likely to cut it into two 6 foot pieces, what happens later when you get a seven foot idea?".

I loved the Krenov books when I read them 30 years ago. I should look for them again.
