Hello Creekers,
Best of the New Year to everyone.
I haven't posted much in the woodworking section but I do check out all the great advice and projects.
I have been making some cedar signs lately and have been using my 5" orbital to prep the surfaces and between finishing coats of sealer.
Today the pad that is attached to the sander and has the hook and loop pad for holding the discs fell off, it looks like it was glued in place and the glue just failed.
My question is, can it be re attached and if so, what would be the best glue/method to use.
Thanks for any advice or suggestions.
John

Hi John
I would just replace the whole pad. You did not say which brand you have but the Borg has Dewalt & Porter Cable for about $15.
good luck

They have Bosch pads as well I think. It should be an easy install, one bolt.

Thanks Guys
It"s a Canadian Tire Brand (MasterCraft) sander, of mid quality.
I've looked to see if they have replacement pads but no luck. it is attached by 3 screws so easy to re and re.
I'm going to try an Apoxy to glue it back on and see if that will hold up.
I'll post an update after I try it out for a bit.

Update
I used an apoxy and glued the pad back on and it seems to be working, at least on small sanding jobs.
