I'm getting ready for my pepper mills so wife gave the OK to get a 1/2" spindle gouge and 3/8" detail gouge from Doug Thompson. I could have bought handles for them but thought it would be a good exercise to make my own. I found tons of info on the internet on how to make them and what to do and not do. The short one is my first ever handle made with mahogany. The longer 1/2" gouge handle is walnut. The one without the tool was my second handle. I couldn't believe it but I uncovered a knot in the wood at the wrong spot! I epoxied it but had better thoughts and turned another. I'm getting good with these:
