I have an image of a pet that I need to laser on a cherry urn. I have the image prepped from PLP and pulled into CD. I took the background out using edit bitmap in CD. but when I laser it on some scrap material, the white box is lasering too. What do I need to do to laser just the animal. I also tried making a png but that gave me a yellow background.

Well,
I am going to reply to my own thread as I figured it out. I used the Cutout Lab in Photo Paint. It worked.

Good job !!!!

Something learned, something shared...

Just a tip for later, some photos just don't engrave well... A alternate is to get a photo to sketch program and convert and laser the lines for a thinking outside the box look.

Thanks,

AL

As for lasers and a "photo to sketch" program, ... PhotoGrav is awesome. It simulates, de-speckles, enhances edges....and so much more. It is a bit high price, but worth the money to not waste products like urns.

Might want to download a trial copy of 1-Touch Laser Photo™ from the Universal Laser site... Use it all the time with a non-universal laser.

Is there such a command in Corel Draw paint?
