This ambrosia maple bowl is 12" x 4" and another example of Russell Eaton's outstanding, and beyond all known superlatives, south Georgia wood. Two years ago I bought a David Ellsworth demo bowl so I used the same shape for this one. It's finished with a thin mix of blond dewaxed shellac, Danish oil and renaissance wax. This is one of the few bowls I've ever done and it was done for a friend's gift for Christmas. The friend never got it; my wife did.

Nice job and finish. Looks to be a nice fruit bowl.

Beautiful. I like the finish, too.

I can see why your friend never got this bowl. That's a really stunning piece of maple and perfectly done. Nice job Bill.

Beautiful bowl. Can't blame the lady for claiming it - SWMBO must also be kept happy!

Not to sound like a broken record, but what a beautiful bowl.
Many times I have made something to give away or sell, and my wife has claimed it. I remember her saying years ago "how many more bowls do we need"? Yet she continues to confiscate them. I don't mind, she helps support my habit.

Very nice. The wood is gorgeous. It appears to have a foot which gives it lift off the table and the shape seems to blend with the foot. I always put on my bowls after reading Richard Raffin's "The Art of Turned Bowls". If you get into making a lot of bowls, this is a great book. It really improved form for me. The rim looks good as well.

First saw this on another site... and it STILL looks great! Hope you have some more of this wood!
