Engraving Hemattite stone

Just a quick question: it is possible to etch a Hemattite stone with a CO2 laser?
I try the search function and find only a thread which is vaguely related.

Yep... it's been quite a while since I put any in my machine (jewelry), but I remember a nice mark coming out.
