Cool Curved Symmetric Solid

Hello,
I was recently given a very interesting symmetric curved solid made from maple and walnut. I recall seeing its construction described on a woodworking blog in the last year or two, but without being able to recall the name for this shape, I am unable to find the blog. Any help identifying the name of this solid would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have learned that this solid is called an oloid. Very interesting in many ways. I am trying to understand the descriptions for make it.

If you're good with jigs/fixtures, you can make one without too much trouble... just remember to measure twice and cut once.

I recall visiting a website that described the jigs used to make this form. I understand some of the geometry, but I do not fully understand the description on Arie Brederode (arie.brederode@home.nl)'s homepage.
