I have a Jacobs chuck on my drill press that binds at one point in the opening and closing. Can these be repaired or just toss it and replace it?

thanks

Yes, I have done it, but if you don't keep track of the jaws and what hole they belong in you can be in for a long evening trying to get it back together correctly.

Have you tried oiling the jaw slides and internal rotating parts?

+1 on oiling. I have a delta drill press that I fought with for years then simply sprayed some WD40 into it - instant cure.

Good thoughts on the lube guys but I have tried that. Guess I will try to fix it and if that fails guess I will be forced to get a new one.
