That is a cool idea. I would love to see a clearer photo. Any chance of that??? I was able to lighten it up on my computer and that really does look cool.

My questions are: 1.) How many colored pencils did you start out with, and 2.) What did you use as a gap-filler between the glued pencils?

Here are a couple of pics that I took with the flash on my kitchen counter they are quite a bit lighter.
I started out with a box of 50 and glued up seven to a row. I stuck some nails in a piece of cardboard to keep them from rolling and started gluing them together with medium ca glued the joint and stacked pencils 4 rows high. Be sure to ventilate as the fumes will take your breath away. Also put wax paper under first row to keep from sticking to cardboard. After dry I ran it through the sander to flatten the sides .302658302659

That is really cool and different! The purpleheart sets the colored pencils off perfectly.

Very nice bowl and a very unique idea. What did you use to color the gap between the pencils? I understand that they are glued together with CA, but did you put dye in the CA to make it dark?
