My wife and I had been looking for a Topper for our Christmas Tree that was us, and haven't been able to find anything that we both liked. Then it dawned on me, I'll make one with our company logo on it that lit up. But this was my first time lighting up acrylic so I head on over hear for some advice, got some, and it was great as always and here are the results. The pictures aren't very good (I can't take regular pictures, let alone ones of something that has a reflective surface and is lit up) but the Tree Topper came out really well, and all of the detail in the cloud that you can see in our logo is visible on the topper.
I used 3mm light blue acrylic that I rastered and then engraved some additional details, Sixteen 3mm LED's, and then backed it with mirrored acrylic (I wasn't sure how much it would light up but I wanted to make sure it was maximized) and the mirror provided a really cool 3-D effect that I was not expecting but was quite happy about it.
