Recently I needed to sharpen the blade of the spokeshave that I had made from the LV kit. Although one can remove the posts , there isn't a whole lot to hold on to while sharpening.302514302515
However by removing the posts and reinserting them through the bottom, and by fashioning a handle to hold them sharpening became much more convenient302517302516302518
When I was happy with the edge , I inserted the posts right side up, honed the bottom edge and it's ready to go.
Probably not a new idea but seems to work. I put a small rabbet on the board end for stability and bevelled the ends so I could see the blade more clearly
Merry Christmas to all
