Well I'm guessing it wasn't cat hair as some of you pointed out it was probably some sort of algae. Well back when I first posted I added a teaspoon of Clorox bleach ( after much discussion here ) and bought some test strips from a pool place to make sure I had just the right amount of bleach to kill algae. Since then my tube has cleaned up and no slimy feel to sides of water container. I add about a half teaspoon of bleach every 3 or 4 days and that seems to keep it at the right level. :) Thanks to you guys that problem is solved.
