In order to lend a bit of variety to the Christmas gifts this year I tried my hand at a little laminated bowl.
Lot's of fun.
C and C welcome.

That's Wenge,Ash, Paudauk and Zebra wood.
4 X 2 inches.
Lacquer finish.

Nice bowl Bruce. It almost looks like a southwest Native American piece. Did you have any issues with the Padauk bleeding into your other woods? The vertical grain lines of the zebra wood contrast nicely with the rings of the other woods. What kind of glue did you use to laminate these exotics together? I've not done any lamination work and my work with padauk and zebrawood had been limited to pens, so I am curious if you had to take any special precautions to ensure the glue stayed put. I've heard oily exotics can be a different story gluing.

The padauk bleed just a little in one spot. Just used CA (a lot of it) to do the glue up. Here's a video that outlines the process and provided the inspiration.http://youtu.be/f6Ly6pUQdAE
