Unisaw power switch: 2007, 3hp, 240 volt, single phase.
Green switch turns saw on correctly. Red switch (off switch) will cut the saw off however will NOT latch in. .As soon as pressure is taken off the red switch, the saw starts up again. ??magnetic switch??

Information from switch:
MS1-09D-R
output voltage: 200/230V
50-6- hz
1PH
3HP
Reference: 438-01-317-0150
Service: 438-01-317-0154

Any help appreciated. Can it be fixed? Do I need a new part or new switch. (switch from Grizzley?)

Thanks

It sounds like the green (On) switch is stuck/sticking.

If you have an air compressor open the cover and clear out any sawdust that may be in the switch. Worked on my Unisaw.

I looked at a magnetic switch diagram and if the relay or On switch is failed closed it should produce the effect of the saw continuing to run except while the Stop switch is pressed (which temporarily breaks the circuit). However, neither of these explain why the saw doesn't start as soon as it's plugged in, and if I understand your post the Start switch starts the saw initially and not simply plugging it in. I did a test with my saw, holding the Start button while plugging it in to simulate a failed closed switch, and as expected it started immediately.
