I found a Laser Pro Mercury for sale (new in 2007) and its only 15 watts. The seller claims it will cut 1/4 inch (6 mm) acrylic in one pass. Just wondering if this is Blue Sky or for real? I know Laser Pro is Made in Taiwan and uses Servos instead of Stepper motors and its got a Synrad tube instead of a glass tube.

15W will not cut 1/4in easily.

Also assume the tube is bad, all the optics need to be replaced, and all of the bearings/belts/ect need to be replaced.

I believe LaserPro is another brand of GCC. I would be very surprised if it can cut .25" acrylic in one pass--that means I want to see it.

I always love those claims :)

A 1 watt .445nm diode from a Blu-ray player will cut 1/4 inch acrylic

eventually ;)

I am also assuming it would not be a cheap upgrade from 15 to say 30 watts? Or can the tube just be re-manufactured to more wattage and a new power supply added?

LaserPro/GCC has been pretty good equipment but their support is often lacking. They also made a boatload of machines for Sign Warehouse under the Pinnacle label.
