Has anyone used these? I just got a pair, and I wonder if anybody has any formulas for measuring rail length. I think it's length plus 3/4" to account for the joint? Does this make any sense? :)

Yes. Length plus 3/4 as a rule.
Have a friend that runs bosch bits. He swears by them. I run whiteside bits myself.

Thanks Steve, I haven't tried whiteside, but I'm very pleased with the Bosch... price difference?

You are pprobably right, but it depends of depth of groove of profilel cutter...then times two of that. And remember room for space balls or other.
If you want more info, Marc Sommerfeld explains how to make an easy job of measuring and cutting parts. He uses different measurements because he is using CMT cutters but rest is applicable: http://www.sommerfeldtools.com/tutorial-archedraisedpaneldoors-1.asp
