My laptop runs windows 7. I use Firefox as my browser. Recently, every time I open Firefox I get a request to update Windows NT. Does windows 7 really need a windows NT update? This computer came with windows 7 so it never had NT. Is this normal?

I am using Win7 and Firefox on my laptop and I do not get this prompt. I believe WinNT is like WinXP out of date and no longer supported. I suggest you scan your computer for virus and MalWare.

I never had NT on this computer. No virus found and no malware present.

I found out from my daughter in law that it is part of the Garmin software that does this. I was able to change a setting in the Garmin software that prevents garmin from starting up when I start my computer, so no more error.

Is that the software that checks for updates for the maps?
I've never had mine do that.
